Here is a hand painted Aladin French Art Deco circular dressing table box of a kneeling, singing Pierrot playing a mandolin designed by Andre Vincent Becquerel. The Pierrot is wearing a black skull cap, a white loose top with large black cloth buttons and blue outlined sleeves and has white loose trousers.
He has a large white ruff around his neck with blue highlights. The box is on a blur ground and decorated with red roses and white flowers with a yellow band to the outer rim.
Marked to base ALADIN MADE IN FRANCE. Inside of lid marked Becquerel for Andre Vincent Becquerel c1930s.
SIZE : The dressing table box measures 17.5 cm high and 15 cm in diameter at widest point. Weighs 536 g before packing.
CONDITION : There is a 5mm scratch to the top of the box as in picture 8 and two areas of black paint loss to the rim as in pictures 9 and 10. Otherwise the dressing table box is in very good condition.
