C. Lemanceau Art Deco'Valkyrie' Large Pottery Figurine French 1930's Red Glaze

  

From the Nordic mythology the maidens of Odin. Large, impressive and dramatic figurine.

Designed by the French sculptor Charles Lemanceau (1905 - 1980) and produced by the Saint Clement ceramics factory in the 1930's. In a deep red gloss glaze. Signed to the front edge.

Overall in good undamaged condition. Two very fine and minor hairline cracks on the base line. Tiny and only notable under fine examination when the item is viewed from interior bottom. Possibly occurred during the manufacturing / casting. Otherwise no cracks, chips or nibbles.
